***Power Outage Hospital Update***

St. Vincent Health is prepared for the planned Xcel Energy power outage in Lake County on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Our facility will operate on generator power to ensure essential medical services remain available throughout the outage.
- Emergency Room, Inpatient Nursing, Lab, and Imaging will remain open and fully operational.
- The Primary Care Clinic and Physical Therapy will open at 12:00 p.m.
- Please call 911 in an emergency
If you or someone you know uses an oxygen concentrator at home, please contact your oxygen supplier to arrange for backup oxygen tanks in advance of the outage.

Helpful Information from Lake County Government
Xcel Energy will conduct a planned power outage in the Leadville area on Tuesday, October 21, to perform emergency maintenance at the Leadville Substation.
This work is essential to improve long-term electric reliability for our community and is expected to impact all Xcel Energy customers within Leadville and Lake County.
(Sangre de Cristo Electric customers will not be affected.)
What to Expect
- Outage begins at 7:00 a.m.
- Power expected to be out for about two hours
- In a worst-case scenario, outage could last up to five hours
Plan Ahead
- Charge phones, medical devices, and backup batteries the night before
- Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed
- Ensure flashlights and other light sources are ready
- If you rely on oxygen or medical equipment, confirm backup systems are in place
- Local oxygen providers are aware of the outage and contacting patients directly
- If you have special needs, contact your provider before the outage
Additional Notes
- Do not park in the north courthouse parking lot starting Monday, October 20 — Lake County Public Works will place a generator there to power the courthouse.
- Barriers and signage will be posted for safety and access.
- Xcel Energy crews will need access to the transformer in that lot.
