CEO Transition Announcement
DREESEN TO STEP DOWN AFTER NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS
St. Vincent Health CEO, Andy Dreesen to leave in September LEADVILLE – July 16, 2025 — The St. Vincent General Hospital District (SVGHD) announces that Andy Dreesen, Chief Executive Officer of St. Vincent Health (SVH), will step down from his position in mid-September 2025.
Since joining SVH in September 2023, Dreesen has played a pivotal role in leading the organization through a significant financial and operational transformation. Under his leadership, SVH has achieved a remarkable turnaround, earning recognition across the healthcare industry as a model for rural hospital success. Dreesen credits this achievement to the collaboration and dedication of the entire SVH team, including the Board of Directors, staff, community stakeholders, and residents.
“It has been a true honor to serve this board, lead such a vital institution, and support the vibrant community of Lake County,” said Dreesen. “The progress we’ve made is a testament to the strength of teamwork and shared vision.”
Thanks to the substantial improvements made since 2023, the outlook for St. Vincent Health is bright. Ongoing priorities include expanding service lines, enhancing efficiency and workflows, and increasing access to providers and specialty care for the community. Dreesen has served as CEO through a partnership with Cypress Health, SVH’s management company.
As a leader in rural healthcare, Cypress’s locally-focused rural health practices are time-tested and will continue to serve SVH in the future. During the leadership transition, Cypress Health and the Senior Leadership Team will provide continuity and guidance. A search for the next CEO will begin shortly, with updates to be shared with partners and the community.
“Andy’s leadership has laid a solid foundation that will support St. Vincent Health for years to come,” said Tony Pfaff president of Cypress Health. “While we will miss him, we are deeply grateful for the positive legacy he leaves behind.”
