“St. Vincent Health Is Very Special”
Marianne Maes is no stranger to pain. As a disabled veteran with 13 surgeries behind her, she faced her biggest surgical challenge in the winter of 2024 when her spine was fused from T-11 to L-4. After returning home from the surgery, Marianne sought the care of St. Vincent Health’s wound care services to remove 39 staples from the incision site.
Anxiety and fear were quickly replaced by confidence when she entered St. Vincent Health and was warmly greeted by wound care nurse, Lindsy Coon.
“Though the surgery had gone well – I was at my limit; I just couldn’t face more pain,” Marianne commented. “Lindsy was amazing. She put me at ease with her knowledge and skill.”
Marianne also mentioned that it was Lindsy’s comforting demeanor and expertise that contributed to her positive experience. She was impressed that Lindsy was personally invested in her healing. Lindsy provided Marianne with a thorough education about caring for the wound. “The staples were removed before I knew it and I learned how to proceed with confidence!”
Marianne reflected on her past experiences with various health systems over the years,
"The Service And Compassion I Received At St. Vincent Health Is Very Special. I Will Not Hesitate to Seek Their Services In The Future."
