Just When is That New Hospital Opening, Anyway?

Thanks for your patience! While we are occasionally disheartened by the delays in construction and completion of the new St. Vincent Health, we’re keeping our sights on the long view and currently looking at a late summer opening. As with a great many things in the past 18 months, the delays have been COVID-related.

The global and national supply chain for certain materials and supplies has been hindered by the pandemic. For example, there’s a certain medical-grade grout that was out of stock and a specific wood for the ceilings in the nurse’s station and the atrium was also delayed. Manpower has also been challenging, as crews have complied with COVID-19 safety precautions.

When the new St. Vincent Health opens, we’ll have new service lines including ophthalmology, dermatology, general surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, pain management and much more. We believe this new facility, and all the community support it represents, will be well worth the wait.
